This means the libero may replace the player in that one position when it is time to serve, serve the ball, and then be replaced before the rally begins, or the libero may remain and play defense. This is the most significant difference from FIVB Rule 19.3.1.1 and NCAA rules, which prohibit libero serving entirely.
