Libero
The libero is a specialized back-row defensive player who wears a contrasting jersey color. Per FIVB Rule 19.1, the libero may only play in back-row positions and cannot serve, attack, block, or attempt to block. Libero replacements are unlimited and do not count as substitutions. The libero must be designated before the match begins and cannot be changed except for injury.
