The Libero may replace any back-row player (FIVB Rule 19.3.1.1). Replacements take place while the ball is out of play and before the whistle for service (FIVB Rule 19.3.2.4). The Libero and the replaced player may only enter or leave the court through the Libero Replacement Zone, the part of the free zone on the team-bench side between the extension of the attack line and the end line (FIVB Rules 19.3.2.7 and 1.4.4).
