4-2 Rotation (Offensive System)

The 4-2 is a basic offensive system using two setters placed opposite each other in the rotation and four hitters. One setter is always in the front row and sets from there, limiting the team to two front-row attackers. The 4-2 is typically used at beginner or youth levels where setting consistency is more important than offensive variety. It is a tactical term, not defined in FIVB rules, but must respect rotation and overlap rules (FIVB Rule 7.5).
