Per FIVB Rule 7.5, at the moment the server contacts the ball, each team's players must be within their own court and in the correct rotational order. The required relationships are: (1) each right-side player must have at least part of a foot closer to the right sideline than both feet of the center player in the same row; (2) each left-side player must have at least part of a foot closer to the left sideline than both feet of the center player; (3) each front-row player must have at least part of a foot closer to the net than both feet of the corresponding back-row player. An overlap fault results in a point and service for the opponent per FIVB Rule 7.5.2.
