Beach Volleyball

Beach volleyball is a variant of volleyball played 2 versus 2 on a sand court, contested at the Olympic Games and on the FIVB Beach Pro Tour. Per FIVB Beach Volleyball rules each team fields exactly 2 players, with no substitutions and no libero, so the pair that starts a match finishes it. Matches are best-of-3: the first two sets are played to 21 points and the deciding set to 15, each won by a minimum 2-point lead with no point cap. Each team gets 1 timeout of 30 seconds per set, and the interval between sets is 1 minute. Teams change ends every 7 points in the first two sets and every 5 points in the deciding set to even out sun and wind. Players hold static positions and alternate service order rather than rotating through the six indoor court zones. Beach is one of the ruleset presets available in VolleyRef.App alongside FIVB, USAV, NFHS, NCAA, and Snow.
