Slide Attack

A slide attack is a quick, one-foot takeoff attack typically by a right-side or middle hitter running laterally behind the setter and attacking to the right side of the court. The hitter takes off from one foot (unlike a standard two-foot jump approach) to generate lateral movement away from the setter, making the attack unpredictable for blockers. Slide attacks are not separately defined in FIVB rules; general attack hit rules apply (FIVB Rule 13).
