Net Violation (Net Fault)

A net violation occurs when a player contacts any part of the net, including the top tape, during an action of playing the ball or as a result of their interference with the game. Per FIVB Rule 11.3.1, touching the net between the antennas during a rally is a fault. Contact with the net outside the antennas, or incidental contact with the net by hair or parts of the body that do not interfere with play, is not a fault. The fault results in a point for the opponent.
