Jump Float Serve

A jump float serve combines the movement of a jump serve with the spin-free contact of a float serve. The server tosses the ball, takes a short approach, jumps, and contacts the ball with a stiff wrist to avoid imparting spin, producing an erratic floating trajectory at higher velocity than a standing float serve. This technique has become widely used at elite levels because it combines pace with unpredictability. FIVB rules governing float and jump serves both apply (FIVB Rule 12).
