Arm Swing
The arm swing is the motion used to generate power and control when attacking the ball. A full arm swing typically involves drawing the hitting arm back (bow-and-arrow position), then accelerating the elbow and snapping the wrist at contact to drive the ball downward. "Arm swing" is a technical/coaching term, not defined in FIVB rules. Any body part may contact the ball during an attack (FIVB Rule 9.1), provided the contact is clean and not held (FIVB Rule 9.2.2).
