Wipe (Wiping off the Block)

Wiping off the block is synonymous with "tooling" the block: the attacker contacts the ball to deflect it off the blocker's hands and out of bounds, winning the point. The term "wipe" is used colloquially. Under FIVB rules, the blocker's deflection is the last contact, so the blocking team is charged with the ball going out. There is no separate FIVB rule for this technique; it falls under general ball-in/out-of-bounds rules (FIVB Rule 10.1).
