Roof (Stuff Block)

A roof is a dominant stuff block driven straight down into the attacker's court for an immediate point. The blocker's hands are positioned above the ball. "Roof" and "stuff block" are colloquial terms, not defined in FIVB rules. A stuff block is legal and scores a point for the blocking team if the ball lands in bounds on the attacking team's court (FIVB Rule 6.1.1.1). After a block, the blocking team still has three hits (FIVB Rule 14.4.1).
