Double Contact (Double Hit)

A double contact occurs when a player hits the ball twice in succession or the ball contacts two parts of the body in succession. Per FIVB Rule 9.2.1, a player may not contact the ball twice consecutively except that on the team's first contact (including serve receive and blocking), simultaneous contacts with multiple body parts are permitted if they occur during a single action.
